A wise new friend has coined the phrase Thankful Thursdays to remind herself and her Facebook group to pause and experience gratitude, at least on this designated day of the week. Here is my growing collection of Thursday Thanks, and the day is not yet over.
- An early breakfast on the deck with my beloved. Homemade granola with homemade yogurt, and wild blueberries and blackberries from a recent walk down to the creek, swollen from the weekend rains.
- A Skype session with a client who is finding her voice and her inner compass after years in a conflicted relationship.
- Coffee with friends at the Dripolator, a favorite local hangout.
- Lunch with a new friend to talk about writing, our own and that of others.
- Blueberry picking at a nearby farm. Twenty minutes of picking = two pints of fat, ripe berries.
- The gifts of ripe heirloom tomatoes, lettuces, arugula and herbs from our own garden for tonight’s dinner salad.
- The tireless work of a diverse collection of pollinators among our flowers, medicinal herbs, and vegetables – Honey Bees, Bumblebees, Mason Bees, Carpenter Bees, Mining Bees, to name just a few.
- The beauty and pollinating services of the Spicebush Swallowtail Butterfly and the Silver-spotted Skipper Butterfly.
